We’ve got a whole lotta noise comin down the pipe in preparation for June 13th’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. E3 is constantly the premier event for large in home entertainment announcements and in particular announcements regarding the video game industry. There’s a lot of rumors crawling into the spotlight in these days prior to what many regard as the biggest days in the video game community. Having never gone personally, I have to say with every fiber of every nerdy ass muscle in my being I would do anything short of turning to the dark side of the force in order to do so.
But without further ado, here are the largest rumors in my mind personally (Take note: I am an Xbox over PS guy).
Assassin’s Creed: Origins
An assassin rocking a bow and arrow in ancient Egypt with the (rumored) ability to travel to ancient Greece. Yes Please! Yeah darts are cool and all but come on, when does one feel more badass then channeling their inner elf, a la Legolas, mowing down hordes of baddies with nothing more than a bow and arrow. Then when they get a little to close sheath that shit and whip out a dagger and the hidden blade. Sounds like the makings of a great game and sounds like the year that Ubisoft took off from releasing AC games may pay off big with this one. Really want to flesh out the lore behind the founding of the Brotherhood of Assassins.
Kinda shitty the rumor is that there will be no news regarding Halo 6. Hopefully because 343 is taking their time to reevaluate the franchise to bring it back to the top tier franchise it once was.
EA open world STAR WARS game, oh hell yeah
The game is being helmed by the Ex- producer of the Assassins Creed series. The images in the video above have some characters climbing beneath stormtroopers and running across rooftops in a very AC like fashion. Hell if this is even just basically Assassin’s Creed: Tatooine I am all in on this one.
So it appears that Square Enix may be taking time off of Shadow of the Tomb Raider to wrap up work on a Marvel Avengers game. I’d say makes pretty damn good sense. Better to get it done and announced for a spring release with the Infinity War movie coming out at the beginning of next summer. The movie that will ultimately be the culmination of the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would be perfect following the release of a full fledged Avengers game. I just pray that my favorite Earthling Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, makes it into the game.
